(County responds to resolution)…It was issued by the Imperial County Democratic Central Committee.

It was a No Confidence Resolution aimed at County Executive Officer Tony Rouhotas Jr and County Registrar of Voters Debbie Porter. The resolution claims irregularities and discrimination. In the response, the County says the claims are unsubstantiated and false. They say the CEO, Registrar of Voters and the Elections Department conduct the voting process in accordance with the highest level of professional election standards. Marlene Thomas, a member of the local Democratic Central Committee and longtime community advocate says it is unfortu7nate that the Committee has used race as an issue. She said she believes in Mr. Rouhotas and his character. Thomas said she found it disheartening that she belongs to a committee that is using racial tactics.
