The Imperial Irrigation District has issued a statement regarding Michael Abatti's Petition for Review before the State Supreme Court.

IID General Counsel Frank A. Oswalt said , " The IID has consistently argued that Mr. Abatti and all other water users with in the IID service territory have a right to service. Decisions on how it should be allocated among all water users is within the sound discretion of the IID. These two principles were confirmed by the Court of Appeal's decision." Oswalt added that IID does not expect the California Supreme Court to grant a review of Abatti's petition because the Court of Appeal's decision was correct , based on a very thoughtful and clear analysis of the law. The District has 20 days to file a response and will oppose the Petition for Review.
