Brawley Police are investigating a shooting that occurred late Thursday evening.

A 9-1-1 call at about 10:00 p.m. Thursday requested medical aid for the possible victim of a gunshot wound. Officers responded to the area of Norman Road and Main Street in Brawley and located a 27-year old man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim was taken to the Brawley Airport and then flown to Desert Regional Medical Center for treatment. The incident is being investigated by the Brawley Police Department as an attempted homicide. The victim is expected to survive. Brawley Police say the investigation is ongoing and asked anyone that might have any information contact the BPD Investigations Division.
