(Over 170 pounds of meth seized)… It happened last week.

A Nissan had driven up to the Calexico Downtown Port of Entry. A Canine detection team alerted to floor area of the vehicle. It was sent to the secondary inspection area. Customs and Border Protection officers noticed anomalies within the floor area of the vehicle utilizing the x-ray imaging system. The officers searched the floor area and found wrapped packages containing about 179 pounds of methamphetamine. The two occupants of the vehicle, a 20 year old male and a 19 year old female were arrested. Both will face federal prosecution. The narcotics and the vehicle were both seized.
