(Weekend Rescues)…There was one Saturday and one Sunday.
El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents rescued 3 illegal immigrants in the two events. The first incident began at around 9:00 pm Saturday. The California highway Patrol notified the Border Patrol of a distress call made by an illegal alien that stated he had been left behind by the group he was traveling with. He said he was lost, out of water and in need of medical attention. The Mountain Disrupt Unit and BORSTAR agents were called in. BORSTAR agents located the man at around 11:17 pm and began treating him for dehydration. The 39 year old Mexican National was taken to a processing area, screened for criminal record and provided further medical attention. He was later deported back to his country. The Sunday incident was reported at around 2:50 in the morning. Calexico Police notified the Border Patrol of a distress call indicating two illegal aliens were lost near the 31 miles to Yuma sign on Interstate 8. The two were located at around 3:45 am. Both men, Mexican nationals, were taken to a processing area, before being deported back to Mexico.
