(COVID 19 Plasma needed)…Both local Hospitals will be seeking donations.

Both Imperial County hospitals and Lifestream Blood Bank have announced that a convalescent donation drive will be taking place over the course of two days. On Monday, August 3, a donation drive will be held at Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District on West Legion Road in Brawley, from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm. On Tuesday, August 4, the donation drive will continue at El Centro Regional Medical Center’s Medical Office Building at 1271 Ross Avenue in El Centro from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Convalescent Plasma donation is a method of collecting plasma products from recovered COVID 19 patients to treat critically ill COVID 19 patients. Plasma from recovered donors may have immune boosting antibodies that may possibly benefit patients with severe cases of COVID 19. In order to donate, plasma donors must be referred to Lifestream and be deemed eligible. Convalescent Plasma donor packets can be found at LStream.org/covidplasma.
