(Statewide Farm worker survey)…Over 900 farm workers participated in the survey.
It found increased risks and fewer jobs; evidence of California farm worker vulnerability during the COVID 19 pandemic. The COVID 19 Farm worker study coincides with new evidence indicating that agricultural workers have elevated vulnerability for contracting the virus. The study indicates farm workers face a double threat; contracting the COVID 19 virus and loss of employment owing to the collapse of foodservice demand. Results of the Survey were collected across 21 counties by 6 farm worker serving organizations, including Lideres Campesinos, Central California Environmental Justice Network, Alianza Ecologista, Farm worker care coalition/Vista Community Clinic, Comite Civico Del Valle, and the Centro Binacional Para El Desarrollo Indigena.
