(Isolation orders updated)…They are related to isolation requirements.
Public Health officials have announced an amended Health Officer Order related to isolation requirements for non-immunocompromised individuals. In addition, a new Health Officer Order, which provides isolations instructions specific to individuals who are severely immunocompromised or have a severe or critical illness, has also been released. The amended order changes the isolation time-lines. The CDC now says evidence now supports discontinuing isolation for the non-immunocompromised once three conditions are met; at least 10 days have passed since their first positive test, and at least 24 hours have passed since no longer having fever, without the use of fever-reducing medications, and symptoms have improved. For the severely immunocompromised, isolation can be discontinued after at least 20 have passed since symptoms first appeared, and at least 24 hours have passed since last fever without the use of fever-reducing medication and symptoms have improved. Individuals who test positive will be provided isolation instructions from their healthcare provider.
