(Smuggler arrested)…Narcotics were seized.

It happened early Thursday morning. At a little after mid-ni9ght, El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Calexico Station arrested a man for illegally entering the United States about 18 miles east of the Calexico Downtown Port. Agents searched the man’s backpack and found 15 cellophane wrapped packages. The man and his backpack were transported to the Calexico Station, where it was determined the packages contained methamphetamine. The narcotics weighed 15.2 pounds with an estimated street value of $34,200. The man, a 44 year old Mexican National, and the meth were placed in federal custody pending prosecution.
