Two people were injured in a single vehicle rollover accident Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred on westbound Interstate 8 west of Drew Road. The vehicle had been reported traveling on the freeway at a high rate of speed and swerving all over the roadway shortly before 4:00 p.m. The vehicle apparently went out of control and ran off the highway at about 4:37 p.m. Two people sustained major injuries , one of the victims was ejected from the vehicle. Westbound I-8 was closed for about thirty minutes for two air ambulances to land. Both Victims were air lifted to Desert Medical Center in Palm Springs. The accident remains under investigation.
