A National Guard mobile analytical laboratory has been deployed to Imperial County.

The lab will assist the Imperial County Public Health Department's ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic by expanding capacity of the Health Department's laboratory. The mobile lab is equipped with a diagnostic platform that allows for faster turnaround time for high-priority specimens. The National Guard laboratory began operations in Imperial County on July 8 fully staffed with laboratory technologists who are appropriately trained and licensed to conduct COVID-19 laboratory testing. The mobile lab unit is anticipated to continue operation until the needs of the county are met. The mobile lab is not open to the public.
