(Calexico City Council reorganizes)…It turned out to be more than anticipated.

During the meeting out-going Mayor Bill Hodge turned the gavel over to Rosie Fernandez, who became the new Mayor for Calexico. Councilman Morris Risen was named Mayor Pro-tem. That was on the agenda. What was not on the agenda was the resignation of the City Manager. Reading a prepared statement, David Dale said he was resigning to accept an engineering position with a former employer. The City Council wasted no time in naming a replacement. The Council named Assistant City Manager Miguel Figueroa was named to take the City Manager position. The council did not say if he would be interim or permanent City Manager. Legal Council said a contract would b drawn up and presented at a later meeting.
