(Taking care of fire victims)…Donations have been more than expected.

George Prieto with the Calipatria Chamber of Commerce says Valley residents have been more than generous in their donations to help the many displaced families, victims of the massive fire that swept through Niland last Sunday into Monday morning. Prieto has put together a list of the displaced and he is asking anyone who would like to sponsor or adopt a family for direct contact donations. Anyone interested should contact him at 760-274-4012. In the meantime, the Forgotten Angels in Niland and the Niland Chamber of Commerce are providing hot meals and other amenities to those who lost their homes.
