The California Transportation Commission has approved funding for three projects in Imperial County.

The projects are funded by federal and state gas taxes and SB1 , the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.  Imperial County projects include $3.9 million to widen State Route 98 from four to six lanes in Calexico between State Route 111 and Rockwood Avenue. Six bridges on Interstate 8 and State Route 78 will be upgraded at a cost of $896,000 and two other bridges on I-8 near Winterhaven will receive $556,000 in upgrades.
