(BORSTAR rescues four)….It happened earlier this week.
It was almost midnight when El Centro Sector Radio Communications received a call from Grupo Beta in Mexicali. They reported two individuals were lost in the mou8ntains near Jacumba Wilderness. The two had reportedly crossed through the mountains into the United States illegally. They had been lost all day without food or water. The El Centro Sector Border Search Trauma and Rescue team was called. They responded immediately with the GPS coordinates provided by dispatch and Grupo Beta. The two were quickly located. Both were adult Mexican males. They were found on a hill abou8t 3 miles south of Interstate 8. On their way to rescue the two men, BORSTAR agents found two other individuals, a man and a woman, about 200 meters away. They had also gone all day without food or water. It turned out the second two had crossed the border illegally with the first two. The agents gave them food and water and provided a medical assessment of each one. After it was determined they did not need medical attention, they were processed and deported back to Mexico.
