The Imperial Valley Produce Scholarships are to assist students wishing to launch or continue studies in agricultural related majors. Scholarships awarded to local High School seniors went to Kendall Shields of Imperial High School, Jessica Friley of Brawley, Abigail Hester of Holtville, and Jake Currier of Brawley. Eight continuing scholarships were also awarded. Funds for the scholarships were raised through donations and the Annual Barbecue that was held this year at the Del Rio Country Club in Brawley. The County of Imperial, through its Ag Benefit fund, will continue to math scholarship donations to an aggregate maximum of $3,000 per student.
