A vacant house in Yuma was extensively damaged in a Thursday morning fire.
Yuma Fire responded to house fire in the 23 hundred block of South 6th Avenue at about 8:45 a.m. On arrival firefighters found heavy smoke and flames coming through the roof of the house. It took Yuma Fire Department about 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control There was fire damage throughout the house and part of the roof collapsed. There were no injuries reported. The house was vacant with no utilities connected. Neighbors had reported transients trespassing on the property. Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
