(Border Patrol arrests two convicted felons)…The first incident happened at a local Motel.
Border Patrol agents had the Motel under surveillance. Agents detained a male US citizen and found he was harboring three individuals in a motel room. Two males and one female. The 3 were screened at the motel and the two men were transported to the El Centro Station. One of the men was identified as 44 year old Marcos Flores Diaz from El Salvador. Flores had been convicted of murder in 2000 in Santa Ana County. He received a 20 year sentence and was deported back to El Salvador in 2019. The 2nd incident occurred in Calexico. Agents observed a man illegally enter the US about 3 miles east of the downtown Calexico Port. A records check identified the man as 45 year old Andres Zavala Lopez. He had been convicted in 1995 of annoying or molesting children in Vista. The Mexican National was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 3 years probation before he was deported back to Mexico. Zavala was deported again. Flores was being held pending future prosecution
