A jet skier died after colliding with a boat Saturday.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office , the accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. on the Colorado River north of Martinez Lake. The initial investigation shows that a jet ski and a boat were both southbound on the river , parallel to each other , when the jet ski turned into the path of the boat and collided with it. The operator of the jet ski , 20-year old Tristan Hays of Lakeside , California sustained fatal injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
