El Centro Police Chief Brian P. Johnson is asking citizens to comply with the County order requiring face coverings.

Last week  Dr. Stephan Munday , Imperial County Health Officer , issued an order requiring the use of face coverings in public spaces and when likely to come in contact with other members of the community. Chief Johnson said his department wants to avoid taking enforcement action and urges voluntary compliance with the order. The Chief added that individuals who refuse to comply will be cited. Non-compliance with the Health Officer's Order could result in up to a $1.000 fine and a maximum of 90 days in jail for each offense.
