(Unemployment claims reach record levels)….There is help.

The record number of unemployed is a direct result of the COVID 19 pandemic, with non-essential businesses closed to help stem the spread of the Corona Virus. The Governor is providing some assistance. His office has announced additional unemployment benefits for workers impacted by the pandemic. Beginning Sunday, those workers will begin receiving an extra $600 on top of their weekly amount. It is part of the new Pandemic Additional Compensation, initiated by the CARES Act. The Governor says this is an important benefit that will help individual Californians and the small businesses, especially those that are struggling economically as a result of COVID 19.
