El Centro Regional Medical Center has announced that two individuals have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
Few details have been released by the hospital other than one of the individuals is currently a patient in the El Centro hospital and the other is quarantined at home. Confirmation came from the San Diego Public Health Department.
At a Tuesday night press conference ECRMC staff said that a patient that had presented at the Emergency Department on Sunday was in isolation at ECRMC and that initial tests had come back inconclusive for the virus and another test would be conducted.. Hospital administration personnel also said that two other individuals had been identified with symptoms consistent to the COVID-19 virus and that they were also undergoing testing. The first patient that presented to the hospital ED on Sunday was reported to be a woman in her 70's who had recently travelled to Florida. No other information has been released at this time.
