(Structure fire in Brawley)….It was reported in the historic neighborhood in the 300 block of J Street.

Mid morning Monday a fire started in one home and spread to the adjacent house. Brawley Fire Department responded to the blaze, and quickly summoned mutual aid. Ten different Departments responded, including NAF, El Centro, County and Holtville. The smoke was intense as police went door to door evacuating the neighborhood. The two houses on fire were occupied, but the residents were able to escape. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Officials say it could be days before all the damage is assessed.
