(Smuggling Narcotic in a taxi)….It happened late last week.

A 19 year old was one of multiple passengers that entered the Highway 86 Checkpoint in a private taxi. The Border Patrol agent inspecting the vehicles sent the taxi and the passengers to the secondary inspection area for an immigration check. During the inspection agents found the 19 year old in possession of suspicious packages. The packages were examined and found to contain heroin and fentynal. The heroin weighed just over 2.6 pounds, with an estimated street value of $28,000. The fentynal weighed.312 pounds with an estimated street value of $15,000. The 19 year old, a US Citizen, and the narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for further investigation.
