The Bill would establish the Safe and Affordable Drinking Water Fund. Garcia said the California Legislature has delivered on their promise to reach an equitable and sustainable safe drinking water solution. One that will work for all Californians. The Assemblyman said SB 200 was crafted after years of persistent advocacy, regional tours, and inclusive stakeholder meetings. He says the new funding mechanism will allow them to rectify the severe water infrastructure disparities and provide access to this fundamental human right to the over one million California residents living in communities without safe and affordable drinking water.
