(Another Drug Tunnel)…This one was found in San Luis, Arizona
. It was located this month. The tunnel was discovered at the former Kentucky Fried Chicken building. Homeland Security agents say San Luis Police observed Ivon Lopez remove two boxes from the former KFC building and put them in his car. The police followed Lopez, who owns the building. The police performed a traffic stop. The say a canine unit alerted to the two boxes in Lopez’s pickup. A search resulted in the discovery of 118 kilograms of methamphetamine, six grams of cocaine, three kilograms of Fentanyl, 13 kilograms of white heroin and six kilograms of brown heroin. Homeland Security Agents executed a search warrant on the closed KFC building. They found the entrance to a tunnel in the kitchen area. The 590-foot tunnel traveled under the international border, ending at the bedroom of a residence in San Luis Rio Colorado in Mexico. Lopez was arrested. The tunnel is being investigated.
