(DUI Checkpoint)…It will be set-up Saturday

. The El Centro Police Department will set-up the Checkpoint at 2900 South Dogwood Road from 9:00 pm to 2:00 am. The Department says the state has seen an increase the drug impaired driver crashes that has resulted in injuries and death. They say high visibility enforcement has served as a deterrent to serious incidents caused by drunk or drug impaired drivers. Funding for the checkpoint is provided by the El Centro Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
