(The County pledges its support)…They have since the inception of the event. It is the 28th Annual Freedom Fest.

Gene Brister, Chairman of Freedom Fest 2018 Committee, went before the Board of Supervisors this week to inform them of the coming event and seek the counties continued support. County volunteers have been invaluable in maintaining an orderly and successful event for the past 27 years. The participating County Departments include the Sheriff’s Reserves, Sheriff’s Explorers, Sheriff’s Posse, Fire Department and Public Works. Over 325 countywide volunteers participated last year. The traditional event is held each year on July fourth on the campus of Imperial Valley College. Up to 60,000 witness the event each year.
