SB1 dollars will be used on pavement improvement projects on State Route 86 and State Route 111 and to improve State Route 98. Caltrans crews have already started work on a $3.4 million project to make the pavement better on SR-111 from SR-98 to Ross Road. More work is underway on SR-98 from Rockwood Avenue to east of Cole Road.
Last week the California Transportation Commission awarded $82 million for other projects in the border region to include $11.9 million for Advanced Technology Corridors at border ports of entry , $3.3 million for improvements on State Route 98 and $3 million for the Calexico East Port of Entry truck crossing.
