The candidate filing period has been extended for a number of races in the November General Election.

According to the Imperial County Registrar of Voters , filing for Area II of the Imperial County Office of Education, school district board seats in Calipatria, Imperial, Central Union, Brawley Elementary, McCabe and Westmorland have all been extended. Filing remains open for the Imperial Valley Healthcare District areas 2, 3 and 7. A number of special districts also have the filing deadline extended. Filing for the November 3, 2026 General Election closed on Friday, but if an incumbent did not file for reelection, the deadline is extended through 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
