(Heat Related illness)....County Public Health Department monitors heat related illness.
Residents are encouraged to be safe during the summer. Know where the Cool Centers and Hydration Stations are located. Stay hydrated and during the hottest part of the day, remain indoors. Between March and July of this year there have been 119 heat related illnesses, either heat stroke or heat exhaustion. Ten of those have been hospitalized. 75% of the cases have been male, with 68% homeless. 25% have been work related. There have been 4 probable deaths reported.
