(Temporary Plan Proposal)....The Bureau of Reclamation releases a temporary plan.

The 10 year temporary plan Calls for allocation cuts to Arizona, California and Nevada. The plan spares Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and Wyoming from facing mandatory cuts for now. The temporary fix gives all basin states time to come up with a more permanent solution. The Imperial Irrigation District says they are focused on the Lower Basin proposal submitted in May. That proposal provides a two year plan for 1.25 million acre feet if annual reductions across the lower basin, for California, Arizona, and Nevada. The Federal plan says the lower basin states could face collective cuts up to to 3 million acre feet through 2036. Reclamation and the IID agree the permanent plan needs to be negotiated and agreed to by the entire basin states.. The IID says there can't be a solution without the upper basin agreeing and participating.
