(A step forward to approve wastewater rate)....It was on the Board of Supervisors agenda this week.

The new wastewater rate is for the Poe Colonia county residents. The Supervisors approved the proposal. That does not mean the rate was approved. It means the process moves forward. It still must undergo the Proposition 218 notice and public hearing before the rate is implemented. In other action, the board declined a Court Appointed Special Advocates of Imperial County public benefit program grant. They were seeking a $150,000 grant. A Public Benefit Grant needs a fukl board approval before it passes. This week, Supervisor Ryan Kelley did not attend the meeting. There was one abstention. The issue was declined, but not dead. The board said it would come back at a later date for discussion with a full board present.
