(California Highway Patrol has scheduled a special MEP)...The Maximum Enforcement Period will be for a 24-hour period.

During that period the Highway Patrol will be focused on speeding. The MEP is usually set-up on Holidays. The CHP schedules as many patrol units on the roadways as possible. The MEP will be in effect this Wednesday at 6 am and continue through 5:59 am Thursday. It will take place throughout the day and night, emphasizing that there is no safe time or place to drive at unsafe speeds. During the operation, officers will monitor roadways and take enforcement action against drivers who exceed posted speed limits or travel at unsafe speeds for the conditions.
