(Two narcotics seizures valued at $2.8 million)....They happened earlier this month at the Otay Mesa Port.
The first seizure happened on April 7. Officers referred a 51-year-old male Mexican National for a secondary inspection. In the secondary inspection area, a CBP canine alerted to the Toyota Prius. A detailed inspection revealed 44 packages of cocaine, weighing around 124 pounds and valued at an estimated $2.4 million. The next day, officers searched a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old male US Citizen. They found 307 pounds of methamphetamine, with an estimated value of around $491,200. CBP seized the vehicles and narcotics. The drivers were arrested ad face federal prosecution.
