(Man Arrested in El Centro)...Police had been called  to perform a vehicle check.

Officer located the vehicle in the area of 12th Street and Pico Avenue. The officers made contact with the driver of the vehicle. They said he displayed symptoms consistent with being under the influence. The driver was asked to exit the vehicle so officers could conduct  sobriety tests. As the driver exited the vehicle, officers observed the inividual attempt to concal a small baggie containing suspected cocaine. The driver was arrested or possession of the suspected cocaine. The vehicle was searched and officers found  around 2 pounds of marijuana in various forms. According to California Law it is illegal to possess more than 28.5 grams of marijuana in a vehicle. The driver was booked into county jail on various charges
