(A small earthquake)....It hit at just after midnight Tuesday morning.

The US Geological Survey says the quake was centered just North of Imperial County, near Borrego Springs. The USGS says the magnitude 3.1 quake was recorded in a sparsely populated area. No damage or injury has been reported.
