(DUI Checkpoint planned)....El Centro Police Department has scheduled a checkpoint.

It will be held Friday, December 19. Officials say they will conduct a driving under the influence from 6 pm on the 19th. It will end at 2 am the following morning. The checkpoint will be set-up near the intersection of Imperial Avenue and Holt in El Centro. Checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes, The primary purpose of DUI Checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
