(El Centro City Council meets this afternoon)....The meeting begins at 4 pm.

The Council will immediately go into closed session. One of the items on the Closed Session agenda is the appointment of a City Manager. If the council takes action during closed session, it is expected to be announced when the council goes into open session. In open session, the council is expected to proclaim May as National Public Works Week May 18- May 24th. They will also be asked to proclaim May as Mental Health Awareness month. During the meeting, the council will hold a public hearing to consider an ordinance to extend the moratorium on tobacco retail shops.
