Two people were injured, and Interstate 8 was blocked for a time Friday.

A collision involving a big rig and a small SUV was reported at about 12:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 8 near Holdridge Road. The SUV hit the semi resulting in minor injuries to both drivers. The wreckage blocked the freeway with one lane reopening at about 3:00 p.m. and the second lane opening up later. Traffic was detoured onto the frontage road while the collision site was cleared.
