The Customs and Border Protection San Diego Field Office is seeing it more and more. It is where unsuspecting individuals are used to transport illegal substances and undocumented people without their knowledge. Criminal Organizations are using the tactics more often. They exploit innocent travelers by concealing drugs or other contraband in vehicles, luggage or packages. The unsuspecting individuals may face serious legal consequences despite being unaware of the illegal contents they are transporting. The CBP suggests travelers thoroughly inspect vehicles before and after every trip. Never carry items for strangers or acquaintances unless you know exactly what's inside. And remain vigilant for any signs of tampering or suspicious behavior
