Two women have been charged with human smuggling.
According to the U.S.Border Patrol, two women approached the Highway 86 checkpoint on Tuesday. The SUV was driven by a woman with another woman passenger and two young girls sleeping in the back seat. The driver initially told Border Patrol agents that they driving from Arizona to California but, later admitted that they had crossed the border at San Luis Port of Entry. Agents then referred the SUV to secondary inspection where it was noticed that the children's photos and names did not match those on the identification cards. It was also determined that the children were not related to the driver or the other adult. Agents discovered that the two girls, ages 10 and 12, were unaccompanied minors from Mexico. Both the driver and adult passenger are being charged with Alien Smuggling.
