(El Centro City Council has a list of finalists)....16 people had applied to fill the City Council vacancy left by the resignation of Tomas Oliva.

This week they cut the list down to 8. Those 8 will be interviewed before the list is trimmed again. The list contains several recognisable names. They include Edgard Garcia, former El Centro City Council member, Jason Jackson, currently with the County Workforce Board, Cheryl Viegas Walker a former City Council member, Carlos Ramirez, Richard Lopez on the Continuum of Care Council, Michael Crankshaw Former Brawley Police Chief, David Dhillon Former City Council member and Raymond Loera former County Sheriff. The interviews will be held Wednesday April 16. They expect to have the vacancy filled at the April 21st meeting.
