The Yuma Fire Department had a busy weekend.

On Sunday afternoon at about 4:00 p.m., Yuma Fire responded to reports of smoke and flames coming from a home in the 700 block of South 2nd Avenue. Arriving fire crews found the fire was coming from the attic of the home. The family was able to safely evacuate the house. No injuries were reported. The fire was contained to the structure where it began. The American Red Cross was able to assist the family. 

Shortly after midnight Monday, Yuma Fire responded to a mobile home on fire in the 1200 block of 5th Avenue. On arrival, fire crews found the mobile home fully involved. The fire was quickly brought under control. All occupants had evacuated the home and no injuries were reported.
