(The DEA Has issued a scam warning)....They say scammers are impersonating Drug Enforcement Administration officials.
They call potential victims, using fake names and fake badge numbers. Thgey also use the names of well known DEA officials or police officers in local departments. Approaches vary, but they may use urgent and aggressive tones. Threaten arrest, prosecution or imprisonment. Demand money via wire transfer of gift cards numbers. And they will ask for personal information such as social security numbers or date of birth. If contacted do not give any personal information and report the incident to the FBI.
