The City of El Centro Library has received a grant.

The grant for $15,700 is from the California State Library to support the Lunch at the Library program. The funding will be used for the program that provides free summer meals, educational programs and community connections for local families. Lunch at the Library program offers pop-up libraries at community-based meal sites, distributes free books to children, hosts summer reading programs for children and teens, creates volunteer opportunities for teens as well as providing free summer meals and programming at the library.

El Centro Library Director Carla Mason said, " This grant allows us to extend critical services to our community, ensuring that children and families have access to healthy meals, books, and enriching activities during the summer".
