The Imperial Irrigation District will host their first Festival of Lights.
The Festival of Lights will be a drive-through Christmas light display at the Imperial Valley Fairgrounds. IID Board President Alex Cardenas said, " We are excited to bring our first Festival of Lights to the community as this is very special. We look forward to bringing cheer to all the families we serve. So, come out and join in the fun". The Festival of Lights will start at 6 p.m. Saturday, December 7 and continue on December 8, 11, 12, 15, and from the 18th trough the 23rd. Those wanting to be part of the occasion will enter the Fairgrounds from the north entrance and, from the comfort of their own vehicle, enjoy the spectacular array of LED lighting displays while driving through a winter wonderland.
As viewers exit the Fairgrounds, information will be distributed about IID customer programs, holiday lighting safety tips and energy savings, as well as residential energy assistance and public programs. Treats will be provided for kids. The event is free.
