Another update has been released by the Imperial County Elections Department.
The Thursday night report shows that there are no major changes in the count. In one of the closest races, Imperial County Board of Supervisors District 2, Martha Cardenas-Singh has a 35 vote lead over Diahana Garcia-Ruiz. Cardenas-Singh has 4,314 votes to 4,279 for Garcia-Ruiz. Lewis Pacheco has pushed out to a 305 vote lead over Javier Gonzales. Pacheco with 3,720 votes to Gonzales' 3,415.
The ballot measures for school bonds remain about the same. The Heber Elementary School District Measure H has a solid 65% yes vote. The Brawley Elementary School District Measure L has 54.91% yes votes. just a bit under the 55% needed for passage. Measure K for the Imperial Unified School District has just 51.9% yes votes, below the 55% threshold for passage.
So far, 42,620 ballots have been counted with an estimated 12,000 more to tallied.There are approximately 6,500 provisional ballots in the system. It may be another 2 week before a final count is released.
