One man is being treated for a gun shot wound and another man is in jail facing attempted murder charges.

El Centro Police responded to El Centro Regional Medical Center at about 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. The hospital had notified police that they were treating a man with a gun shot wound. The 32-year-old victim was treated at ECRMC and then flown to the trauma center at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The man has life-threatening injuries from a single gun shot wound. During the investigation, a suspect was identified. Officers located Michael Felix in a residence in the 400 block of East Olive Avenue in El Centro. Felix was arrested without incident and booked into Imperial County Jail for Attempted Murder and numerous gun and ammunition related charges. El Centro Police thanked agents from the Imperial County Narcotics Task Force and the Department of Homeland Security Investigations Border Enforcement Security Team for their assistance in the case.
