(October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month)....It was proclaimed By the County Board of Supervisors and the City of Imperial this week

. Holtville, Brawley and Calexico are expected to adopt similar proclamations later in the month. The month will be used to raise awareness and provide resources for the prevention of Domestic Violence. Womanhaven, who deal directly with victims of domestic violence, has several events planned. Friday is the Remember My Name Memorial at Johnny's Burritos locations, where a percentage of proceeds are donated to Womanhaven. October 11 is the 4th annual walk against domestic violence at the Imperial Regional Detention Facility. On October 23 will be the IVC Walk A Mile On October 24th residents are asked to wear purple to support domestic violence awareness. And on October 25th is the 7th annual Garden of Hope Mariposa Gala at the Old Eucalyptus Schoolhouse.
